Process

Eligible students are invited to submit a paper to be presented in the student paper competition at the IISA 2018 Conference.   Up to ten student papers are shortlisted for the competition.  These shortlisted students will then present their work at the conference.  It is anticipated that the shortlisted students will receive partial travel support. The decision for the shortlisted students will be made after March 31, 2018.

Papers not selected for the oral presentation will be considered for the student poster competition.

Selection

The competition winners will be chosen based on the quality and content of these presentations and will be announced at the conference.   An award subcommittee selected by the IISA Executive Committee, determines the winners. This year’s subcommittee consists of Professors Taps Maiti of Michigan State University (Chair), Saonli Basu of University of Minnesota, and Sanjay Chaudhuri of National University of Singapore.

Participants must be the lead author of the submitted paper.  Please send the following documents in pdf format to spc@intindstat.org:

Please note that the paper is only for judges to assess the research and to select the finalists.  This is not a submission for publication. The last date for submission is March 7, 2018.

Student participants will have to register.  The registration fees for the finalists will be reimbursed after the conference is over. Additionally, affordable student housing options can be found here.
